South Asian opportunities in the coming months

South Asians are the largest ethnic group in Canada. The coming months offer great opportunities for Canadian businesses to reach South Asian effectively. 

Vaisakhi (April): Vaisakhi is the biggest Punjabi festival. Celebrated as a spring and harvest festival in South Asia, it’s an occasion for celebrations in Canada as well.


South Asian Heritage Month (May): South Asian Heritage Month is the name given to the month long celebration in Canada of the presence and heritage of people with roots in the South Asian countries of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and Afghanistan.

[In Canada, 'South Asian' refers to those who have come directly from these countries to Canada (and their descendants) as well as those who have made second and even third migrations from more than 15 other countries, such as Guyana, Trinidad, Suriname, Jamaica, Guadeloupe, Martinique and others from the Caribbean from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa from Africa, from Europe, the Middle East, South America and Oceania]. 
 
Above two occasions are great opportunities to speak to South Asians and build an ever-lasting relationship with this community, while ensuring their loyalty and positive word-of-mouth feedback.

Virgin Mobile - Chinese New Year Creative

This Chinese New Year creative was designed for Virgin Mobile. The campaign included Print, In-Store Posters and an Intercept adaptation of this creative. The accompanying radio spots ran in GTA and GVA. 

Bell Mobility - Chinese New Year ad

This ad was created for Bell Mobility's Chinese New Year Campaign 2012. Building on their Chinese New Campaign from last year, Bell Mobility chose to update the ad with their latest smart phones and offering.

Bell - FIBE TV ad

This ad was created to highlight the abundance of South Asian programming offered by Bell FIBE TV with their South Asian Combo offer. In partnership with ATN, Bell's South Asian combo boasts over 30 channels.
